Design Versatility of Fresco
Our flagship traditional stone in past decades, Citadel featured robust, fieldstone shapes. With a less ’round-belly’ profile, Fresco provides amazing design versatility and in chameleon-like fashion can embody a range of styles – from traditional to modern – depending on building design features, accents and detailing.
Fresco’s versatility makes it an ideal choice for commercial and residential projects where designers are looking to add authentic character with a modern or custom feel.
In recent years, we’ve witnessed a wide array of Fresco applications – from matching historic stone on a 200-year-old university building (Historical challenge met at Miami University) to transitional style homes in rural Quebec to modern farmhouse designs in major cities.
How Fresco Replaces Citadel in a Fresh Way
Fresco and Citadel are comparable 3-unit stone blends. The only difference between the two was the 8″ piece: Fresco with a refined profile and Citadel with a rounded, fieldstone front profile. The 2″ and 5″ units remain unchanged – in fact, these were already hybrid pieces (FRE/CIT23 and FRE/CIT52). Overall, the result of Fresco replacing Citadel is simply a slightly more subtle profile.
At our Fort Valley, Georgia plant, Citadel product line (arriscraft.com/arriscraft-citadel-georgia) is unchanged with seven standard colours available.
