Better than artificial – performs like natural stone
Calcium Silicate stone is formed in much the same way as sedimentary stone, through Arriscraft’s patented Natural ProcessTM technology. Calcium Silicate stones are manufactured by mixing lime with an inherently strong, silica-based sand and pressing under high pressure. The ‘green’ units are then subjected to high-pressure steam in an autoclave to produce a unit with a uniformly fine-grained texture. A calcium silicate hydrate binder is formed when the elements in the raw materials chemically react in the autoclave resulting in a durable, strong and intimately bonded unit. With Calcium Silicate stones, the final colours are stable and are not prone to fading over time.
Calcium Silicate stones are manufactured to meet the severe weathering requirements of the ASTM standard. These stone units are a natural alternative to using more expensive quarried stone or a lower performing, concrete-based manufactured stone. They provide builders with an opportunity to use, at an economical cost, a material of controlled, high strength, with a natural, distinctive appearance and well-established durability.
