In June 2016, Adams County (CO) broke ground on a new, $5.8 million centralized headquarters for the South Adams County Fire Protection District. The project is one of several expansion projects, including new equipment and remodeling of several outdated stations. The new headquarters building, complete in July 2017, will be home to the fire district board, administration, the fire bureau, and training. According to Fire Chief Kevin Vincel the new headquarters “will change the dynamic of the district by providing a building that both provides a better working space for our growing district and offers a professional service to the public. We are building this headquarters building with a concept of a 50-year-plus building.”* With the goal of delivering a facility that would endure for generations, Anderson Hallas Architects, PC of Golden, CO specified Arriscraft’s thin-clad ARRIS.tile calcium silicate stone, with two key installation systems that would maximize the longevity and energy efficiency of the building exterior. |

ARRIS.tile thin-clad stone was adhered using the LATICRETE Masonry Veneer Installation System (MVIS), a patented polymer-fortified mortar designed specifically for the installation of adhered masonry veneer. Arriscraft warrantees its product for the lifetime of the building with proper installation of its products with this preferred installation system. The project architect and mason, ASCO Masonry, also specified the ProGUARD®DP Insulated Concrete Board. These fully engineered panels not only meet energy code requirements, they also replace three to four manual steps with one; this combined system eliminates the separate steps of drainage plane, insulation, wire lathe and mortar bed. This time saving system reduces installation time, requiring generally one third of the labour time and cost. |
