Credit Union Rolls Out New Brand Standard

Because customer loyalty is crucial to their success, financial businesses place great importance on developing and maintaining a positive image. As establishments needing to evoke security and permanence, banks and educational institutions (in particular) often invest in high-performance buildings that offer not only longevity, but also consistency in look and experience.

From a building design perspective, careful product choices help create and sustain corporate image, and ultimately consumer confidence. In this article, we’re featuring a replicable, high performance building design selected for a multi-branch roll out.

The State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) of North Carolina serves over 2.1 million members through 265 branches statewide. These are impressive numbers considering the credit union was incorporated in 1937 with $437 in assets and 17 members – operated from the basement of Raleigh’s Agriculture Building! Continued expansion initiated plans for 27 additional branches across the state. Our feature project is the second building of this expansion project, headed by Summit Design & Engineering Services in Hillsborough, NC. http://www.summitde.net/architecture/

By selecting several Arriscraft masonry products, the designers have ensured the highest level of aesthetics, performance, and consistency – not to mention a guaranteed, long-term supply for future projects. Our products are perfectly suited for multiple location businesses (i.e. retail chains); our product consistency and performance leads the industry.

As a manufactured stone, Arriscraft products deliver near perfect consistency in size and color – regardless of the quantity needed or the time between orders. Equally important, our unique manufacturing process creates stone with color that never fades and mimics natural stone’s appearance. All of our masonry products are guaranteed for the life of the building. Here’s a closer look at the Arriscraft products used for the new State Employees’ Credit Union roll out.

Renaissance® ARRIS-tile (Cafe)
This versatile thin stone is installed like tile, using the Laticrete MVIS® installation system. ARRIS-tile allows builders to add high performance masonry efficiently and cost-effectively. On this SECU project, designers specified ARRIS-tile around the ATM area.

Shadow Stone® Building Stone (Jasper)
Used as a knee wall and to surface columns, Shadow Stone® Building Stone adds a touch of charm and character to this institutional design.

Renaissance® Masonry Units (Cafe)
These versatile, masonry ‘building blocks’ are available in smooth and rocked finishes. This building uses Renaissance® masonry units for bands around the building within the clay brick.

ProGUARD®DP
Earlier in 2017, Arriscraft and our parent company, General Shale, became exclusive distributors of the ProGUARD®DP Insulated Concrete Board system. This combined system eliminates the separate steps of installing drainage plane material, insulation, wire lathe and mortar bed. This revolutionary system, manufactured by T. Clear Corp., requires generally one third of the labor time and cost of similar, multi-step processes.

The ProGUARD®DP system was installed around the ATM with the ARRIS-tile to achieve the desired R-Value and provide a suitable substrate to adhere the tile to.

Renaissance® ARRIS-clip (Cafe)
A unique thin cladding system, ARRIS-clip thin stone is installed into a pre-engineered channel system, allowing designers amazing flexibility in applying exterior stone. For example, this stone was added to the soffit area on the SECU building, an area that normally would be nearly impossible to add masonry.

ARRIS-cast Cast Stone
In addition to our full-bed and thin stone products, we produce a wide selection of Cast Stone accents that can be color matched to any Renaissance® stone. For this project, the building design includes curved supports, sills and columns – all matching the Renaissance® products (i.e. the Masonry Units used for the decorative bands and the ARRIS-tile used around the ATM service area).

Incorporating multiple Arriscraft masonry products gives designers the unique ability to color match or color coordinate all elements. Our capability to match our cast accessories, our wide standard color selection (for all products) and our in-house custom color development allows building designers to create cohesive and unique building designs, from top to bottom.
