Award-winning Waterloo North Hydro Head Office

This LEED Silver Certified, two-storey facility functions as the Head Office for Waterloo North Hydro, as well as the Fleet Service Centre. Situated against a rural backdrop (next to the Conestoga River), the building offers many green features, including a geothermal heating and cooling system, a storm water management pond and open space sensitive to the area’s natural resources. Developers also recovered and recycled almost all of the material from an existing one hundred year old farm on the property, for use as aesthetic features in the new building, according to President & CEO, Rene Gatien.^†

The building exterior features Arriscraft Shadow Stone^®, in Driftwood. This linear, ledged-style stone is a perfect combination of natural and modern; it complements the country setting and offers clean, horizontal lines for this cutting-edge design.
